点评：We had just a quick day trip stop off the cruise ship. The shuttle bus dropped us at this lovely downtown park as the starting point for exploring. The park itself is known for its many iguanas wandering around through the gardens and little pools. There is also an impressive statue of Simon Bolivar on horseback, many comfortable benches, trees for shade, and bright flowers. At one end of the park, I found some local dance troop delighting the crowds with some wonderful local dances. Not sure if I just lucked out or if that is a regular thing...
It had rained earlier in the day so the benches were wet, but turned VERY hot as the day wore on and dried quickly. Many people all around -- both locals with kids and tourists, but all friendly. Across from one side of the park is a lovely church.
