点评:This review would have been much higher if not for the check-out. During our two week charter the navigation equipment on the Aquaholic broke down twice. Leaving me without any reliable instruments. No GPS, depth Sounder, autopilot or wind meter could be used. These are pretty essential tools. This left us stuck in port twice for repairs.
When I arrived back in Alimos I was told there was supposedly some rudder damage of €60, and that the front toilet was clogged which would cost €150. We never hit anything with the rudder and the we had not even used the front toilet (they admitted that the previous charter broke the toilet). It was really smelly as of the beginning of our charter.
Because we had essentially missed out two days of our vacation and the days without the electronics were not really enjoyable I wanted to make a compromise on the remaining charter fee but was threatened with the Port Police if I would not pay for it and the damages.
I think trying to scam some money of a charterer for “damage” on the rudder after them missing two days because of an malfunction is just idiotic. You pay around €500 euros a day for these boats and you expect the essential electronics to work. They can break down once, but the same problem twice is just unacceptable and unsafe.
It’s a shame because apart from the little things I really did like the guys and was understanding about the small issues during our charter or even the whopping 13% management fee on credit card payments, meaning I had to pay everything in cash or at a 13% premium.
A reminder that how nice the people may seem, always document the damages when you take out a boat. Because the boat (Acquaholic) had a lot of minor issues, among others freezer lid broken, front hatch window cracked, back control of the anchor not functioning.
