The Colliery Tavern的点评
点评：Like many old pit villages all over the country they all had a local or three to frequent. Pit days are long gone but there are some great local pubs left with character in abundance. Over the summer we’d visited traditional pubs in our area and been impressed with nearly all of them.
We’d been to the Colliery Tavern once before at Christmas with friends and were made to feel at home then. This time we visited on a cold October night at 6pm. The pub was lit up and decorated in and out with Halloween decorations. Whilst there the clientele were of all ages (dogs welcome too). The range of beers and ciders were massive as the excellent barmaid showed us. Music is advertised, darts, cards and dominoes, large tv and a bar and back room. During summer there’s outdoor seating. The whole bar was just relaxing, welcome to strangers and regulars alike. On our quest for bargain prices this has taken the lead at under £6 (chain bar prices excluded). We wish we lived a bit nearer to make this a local it was that good.
