A Garden Park with many species of flowers
滨松花卉公园的点评
点评：Hamanako Garden Park is different from Hamamatsu Flower Park. The entrance to this city park is 800 yen. Comparing the online photographs, Hamamatsu Flower Park seems to be more scenic than this park though both are located about 30 minute drive from each other. This park is very big and needs a lot of walking. While there are pleasure boat cruise rides and you can rent a family bicycle, I would prefer to walk to appreciate the beauty of every flower in the gardens.
There are about 20 facilities within the park where one could enjoy the open spaces and seasonal nature along the shores of Lake Hamana. But the theme seems to lack focus and many plots of garden just replicated itself with almost same species of flowers and nothing unique or special. Out of the many mini-gardens and facilities, I think the Flower Museum stands out from the rest.
In the Flower Museum, is a replica of Claude Monet's house and the garden painted by the famous artist. But the Museum was really crowded and the garden paths were narrow and I lost the appetite to really appreciate the gorgeous colorful flowers when you accidentally bumped your body against someone coming your way.
The Flower Museum is located near to remote eastern exit and by the time we walked back to the bus parking area where we initially alighted, many of us were `groaning' with feet pain and tiredness. We did not venture up the Observation Tower to enjoy a panoramic view of Lake Hamana and her green forest.
For a while, I thought our mini size Singapore indoor Flower Dome at Gardens By the Bayis more theme-focused and the flowers look more vibrant and freshly colurful than that I found here. Although the species are many, the park just lacks that wow factor.
