点评：谷津干潟に隣接するバラ園です。周遊するだけでも30分は要するくらいの敷地面積を誇り、園内の南側及び北側はやや高台となっているため、段差を活かしたバラ園の景観を、どの方向からでも楽しめるように設計されています。園内は小規模ながら複数のエリアに区分けされており、皇族や王族用に開発・贈呈されたバラや、芳醇な香りを楽しめるバラなど、様々な品種のバラを楽しむことが出来ます。
春のバラが楽しめるのが5～6月、秋のバラが楽しめるのが10～11月頃です。それ以外の期間も入園可能ですが、勿論バラは咲いていません。園内のところどころに休憩用のベンチが設置されていますが、バラが咲いていない期間は単なる休憩スポットの一つと考えた方がいいかもしれません。バラが咲く時期、全く咲かない時期によって入場料が変わることに注意が必要です。
園内の高台には、階段だけでなくスロープも設置されているため、車椅子等の障碍を持つ方でも気軽に利用できると思います。
This rose garden is located adjacent to the Yatsu Higata (tidal flat). The garden boasts an area so large that it would take more than 30 minutes just to walk around it. The south and north sides of the garden are slightly elevated, so the view of the rose garden is designed to be enjoyed from all directions, taking advantage of the difference in the terraces. Although small in scale, the garden is divided into several areas, where visitors can enjoy a variety of rose varieties, including roses developed and presented for royalty and royalty, and roses with a mellow fragrance.
Spring roses can be enjoyed from May to June, and autumn roses from October to November. The park is open to visitors during the rest of the year, but of course the roses are not in bloom.
