Interesting tour of behind the scenes equine care

点评：We visited Hagyard Equine Medical Center as part of a tour on a long weekend getaway to Lexington & Louisville. We booked through the Horse Country website who made the booking/scheduling process easy!
We had Sydney as our tour guide. While she had only been working at the facility for 6 months, you can tell her passion for horses and love of her job and the facility. We booked the standard tour, it was fascinating to see the amazing facilities and were able to watch part of a surgery on a young foal, saw a scope being done on other horse in one of the barn procedure areas and Sydney took her time to answer any questions we had along the way.
There is not interaction with the horses themselves, but if you are interested in the advanced care that the equine field demands and state-of-the-art facility and how they run then this is a great tour. Would not recommend for little kids because of potentially seeing surgery/ill horses, and it is more geared towards adults in the drier material context of medical side, but we certainly enjoyed our time and glad we saw the facility.
