点评:Brookfield Zoo has some standout moments, but also a few frustrations that keep it from being a top‑tier experience.
The polar bear exhibit was easily the highlight of the visit. The bears were extremely active, swimming, playing, and really showing off—one of the most memorable polar bear displays I’ve seen. The wolf habitat was another strong point, with the wolves up and moving rather than sleeping out of sight.
However, the zoo is very spread out, so expect a lot of walking between major exhibits. Some paths feel longer than they need to be, and signage could be clearer—especially when it comes to parking. It took some effort to figure out where we were supposed to go.
Inside, the aquarium had one of the strongest fish smells I’ve ever encountered. It’s a neat space, but the odor was overwhelming enough to make the visit quick.
Costs are another downside. Tickets and parking are expensive, and the zoo no longer accepts AZA reciprocal discounts, which makes the visit pricier than many comparable zoos. Due to the size of the zoo it almost requires a 2 day visit, but it would be too expensive.
Overall, Brookfield Zoo has some excellent animal experiences—especially the polar bears and wolves—but the high cost, confusing parking, strong aquarium odor, and long walking distances make it a mixed visit. The current Dino displays add a little fun to the day. A solid 3 stars.
