点评：It’s mid-May. The place rates a rant, so here goes. We walked and walked…around the lakes and were astonished at the lack of blooming plants during the prime season for bloom and color. The gardens look neglected.. A few under planted tulip beds. Tons of hosta beds everywhere, but no variety of hostas…boring. The overwhelming presence of hostas seem an indicator of a chintzy low maintenance display philosophy making it appear there’s no money to plant in more creative ways. Picturesque man-made lakes with no blooming flowers on the banks anywhere to be seen. Just boring green scenery everywhere in every direction. Something is not right here. This is the prime timespan when a garden should be at its best with flowers coming into bloom everywhere. As it was yesterday, this place is a shame and a waste of money. The food is awful, and the general atmosphere is arrogant. There’s nothing unique or even plant-worthy to see during this time of year when everything should be popping and gorgeous. For gosh sakes one might expect to see some colorful beds or flowering trees bordering those watery shores and reflecting some colors off of the water surface. There is nada. It’s an embarrassment, an ordinary forest preserve which should be free. If they can’t landscape design or plant for a mid-May into June showcase, then something is wrong here.
