Can not believe our luck getting to stay in this stunning, amazing, intriguing house.. we LOVED it!
A House For Essex的点评
点评：Idly surfing with a cuppa, I came across an article saying Julie's House/ A House for Essex was available to book on line now...(previously it had been by ballot only) had a look, and 3 days later we were there staying for 2 nights, with a 20 per cent discount to boot! Totally surreal!!
They do take a £500 deposit in case you damage something or don't leave it clean and tidy. Obviously if you leave it as you found it you get the £500 back... well hope so!!
Now I understand Julie's story, I understand the house, its reason for being, the ideas behind it and its contents. What an imagination Grayson Perry has! Remarkable. It's light, bright, comfortable and you spot something new to look at closely every time you return!
Both of us were 'blown away' by the interior... the tapestries are amazing, so striking and thought provoking.
Stunning setting looking down towards the River Stour, with beautiful sun sets and sun rises and thankfully, in the mini heatwave, always a cooling breeze running through the house.
Beds were very comfortable, kitchen very well equiped, can't fault a thing!
Delightful walks all around the immediate area of the house too.
Only negative... we've stayed in 15 Nat Trust, Eng Heritage, Landmark Trust houses... all shapes and sizes - with numerous friends. Always felt totally relaxed, cooked for England...never a care in the world. At Julie's House daren't cook anything, worried about breaking something etc... probably just me... but I was relieved to leave, nothing damaged, all neat and tidy!
Despite that reservation, it was a privilege, to stay in Julie's House. We loved and savoured every minute! HIGHLY recommend it.

唯一的缺点...我们住过 15 栋 Nat Trust、Eng Heritage、Landmark Trust 的房子...各种形状和大小 - 和很多朋友一起住过。总是感觉完全放松，为英格兰而做……从来没有关心过世界。在朱莉家不敢做任何东西，担心打破东西等等......可能只有我......但我很放心地离开，没有任何损坏，一切干净整洁！
尽管有这样的预订，入住朱莉之家还是一种荣幸。我们热爱并享受每一分钟！强烈推荐它。
