Excellent wine tasting, best one this yest

点评：Our winetasting experience in Davinum was really good, very well worthwhile.
Our host, Cosimo, was quite knowledgeable, very enthusiastic, and extremely pleasant during our visit.
We arrived a bit early as the last group was still making a tour and Cosimo was so nice that he gave us a glass of wine to sip on while we were waiting.
The wait was worthwhile as the wine cellar is extremely well put together and well suited for a comfortable and pleasant visit.
Pre-booking online was very easy. Follow up for our request was excellent as Cosimo contacted us several times before we actually arrived for the visit just to confirm how many people we were, and what we wanted to do
We chose the wine tasting with the number menu, which included olives, bruschetta, cold cuts, cheese, dried tomatoes, bread and coldpressed olive oil from the winery.
After a tour of the cellar and the wine making equipment, we started with the wine tasting.
First on the tasting was a rosé made from a cuvee of mostly Sangiovese grapes, an excellent summer wine, particularly good with fish dishes.
Next was a light fresh Sangiovese, it red wine, not aged in wooden barrels. This was especially interesting as we had a chance to compare it a bit later with a Sangiovese red wine that had aged 3 years in oak casks. This was a unique and rare experience to directly compare the wines to see what the influence is of oak cask aging on red wine .
We highly recommend visiting Davinum for tasting unique wines. Excellent wines, wonderful service, and very friendly people.
