点评：We did the 3 day, 2 night community stay, and it was one of the best travel experiences of my life. The tour is a great mix of experiences, but the best thing is being welcomed by the community.
John was a fantastic guide, answering all my many questions, sharing his pride in his community and traditions, a considerate hike leader, and a great facilitator.
The visits to true " cottage industries" were fantastic, and I loved purchasing genuine things, and knowing the money was going direct to the makers. It was also fascinating to watch the processes, and we appreciated the things we made and were able to keep, with absolutely no pressure to buy anything.
The hike around Cuicocha Lake was fantastic, with John patient with our altitude- induced breathlessness, and going at the pace we needed, and assessing our ability to continue. The hike at Mojanda Lake in worse weather, was also good. We were not going to attempt the climb up Fuya Fuya!
But it was our experience with our homestay family that was truly special. We were welcomed as family, into an immaculate bedroom with ensuite, and then invited along to a family wedding that night! So far above what I could even have hoped for. Given our lack of Spanish and their lack of English, we didn't understand everything that was going on, but the welcome, the hospitality and the genuine joy and warmth were unmistakable. A truly, truly special time. And John answered all our questions about it, the next day.
Now, not everyone will have the same opportunity, but the welcome and warmth and genuine pleasure in your presence will always be there, I'm sure.

但真正特别的是与寄宿家庭的相处经历。我们受到了家人般的热情接待，住进了一间带独立卫浴的整洁卧室，然后当晚还被邀请参加一个家庭婚礼！这远超我的预期。由于我们不会说西班牙语，他们也不会说英语，我们没能完全理解他们所说的一切，但他们的热情好客、真诚的喜悦和温暖，无一不体现着他们的真挚。那真是一段非常特别的时光。第二天，约翰还解答了我们所有的问题。
当然，不是每个人都能拥有这样的机会，但我相信，你们的热情好客、真诚的喜悦和陪伴，将永远伴随我们。
