Great Value on a well maintained course (but stay below the hole)
Pattavia Century Golf Club的点评
点评：Pattavia Century Golf Course is one of the best values in Thai golf. I played yesterday with my son and we paid 1350 Baht each including the buggy. Getting to the course used to be a rough journey but the government fixed the road in from Highway 331, so the biggest problem was resolved.
The layout is interesting (and long from the Blue tees).. I have played the course on and off for 8 years, and its current condition is excellent despite a dry high season. Fairways, bunkers, tees and greens are well maintained.
My caddies English is superior to my Thai, and they can read the greens very well. Despite their ability, it took me a while to learn that you must stay below the hole to avoid three putts. a 20 foot uphill putt is much better than a 5 foot downhill putt.
John Daly hated the 18th at the Olympic Club in the US Open so much he broke the rules of golf. My stubborn golf buddies act in a similar manner when they allow their ball above the hole.
Perhaps because of the reviews of John Daly-esque golfers, it is seldom busy before 10AM. It is such a pleasure to play a round in less than 3 hours and never have to wait. We ran into a foursome from the Links Golf Society on the 13th tee, and they sped up and we did not wait on a single shot. Phil Davies does a nice job with that group.
We will be back this week and I swear that this time I am going to finally keep the ball in the right spot on every hole and I will drink beer if I am unsuccessful.
