点评：Having lived on the Isle of Wight for many years, we had never visited Farringford. We were extremely impressed with the gardens. Everything in the walled garden is very new and extremely well maintained. The woodland walk is about half a mile and easy. . The house wasn’t open, but we knew this before we visited. However, the restoration exhibition was just amazing. To see how the house has changed over the centuries up to present day was extremely interesting and the present owners have done a fantastic job as far as we could see. What was amazing was the removal of Fred Pontin’s holiday cottages and the re-installation of the walled Garden. One would never know that all the holiday cottages had been pulled down. This whole thing must’ve been an incredible project and the owners are to be congratulated.
The lady on the ticket desk was very welcoming and we were very impressed with the laminated garden map instead of a paper leaflet. What a good idea. We really enjoyed our afternoon.
