点评:Let me tell you a story. We arrived checked in no valet for luggage. We went to our room at $515.00 before taxes which are substantial and expected a solid room. There were no bottles of water so returned to desk and 2 were provided. There were only 6 hangers and we were going to stay for a week. The deadbolt on the door would not work unless you lifted the door to turn. The door to the balcony area was seized up but they showed us how to aggressively push it open. Ok now water pressure at sink is extremely low which is frustrating. Then being exhausted after 11 hours traveling found the pillow hard but other smaller pillow was ok. Then the bar and restaurant noise in the open lobby was heard with great clarity in the room. This continued until 12:30am. A call to inquire if it would end was not returned.
After sleeping and making a cup of coffee sitting in the chair I noted my feet were cold and WET! I could not believe it. There were water marks on the carpet in about a 4 foot radius. I had heard dripping during the night and now there is water. I checked reviews and this is A RECURRING ISSUE!
We checked with the desk and the manager on duty and she indicated they would need to investigate. We were not willing to remain with water leaks, risk of mold as this is not a new issue and the noise.
Of course the Castle required $3700.00 paid in full in advance months ago. Unusual but we paid. Sadly we did not vet the Hotel and assumed it was a sophisticated and elegant hotel in Lexington.
China the manager on duty then offered the Farmhouse for one night and we toured it and was fine, we would have preferred a hotel room but agreed but we would then need to move to the Cabin but we could not see it. There are no true photos on line that show it well.
They did warn us of the goats, donkeys etc but we just wanted to relax as we flew in for our granddaughters first birthday and Thanksgiving with family. We did not want them to have to take care of us as well.
Now during the family event China is texting that the cabin was booked already for the last night and they would have to move us again! 4th time if we stay at the Castle. They knew it was booked but did not tell us until after we agreed to stay.
We returned for the night at the farmhouse but found the gates closed. The road is terrible with standing water, mud, broken pavement and some gravel. Single lane road with no lighting and no turn around. No one explained they would be locked. We called the desk and the clerk apologized and explained we could open and close gates but I was well attired and with the mud and water it was not feasible and I had not packed farm clothes as I had anticipated a luxury facility or even a well maintained facility. They noted there is another gate, gave us the code to a nicer driveway. I had a vehicle that I could take off road into the field to turn around. Finally to the house.
In the morning we had to pack up completely, load the vehicle. The proposed cabin would not be available until 4 pm. We were to take our luggage and they would call when cabin was ready. At 4 pm they called and we came to unload luggage. We went inside to find 7 foot ceilings, a door to the hot water heater room falling off, stackable washer and dryer in the path to bath. No bath counters and very poor lighting. No bedroom closet. It was a scene from a terrible vacation.
We returned to the desk and found it totally untenable. We indicated we gave up and having to pack again and move would not happen.
We asked they refund our remaining funds and note the property had failed to provide a luxury accommodation. They knowingly provided a room they knew had water problems and they wanted to make their problem ours. They failed on deliverables. The staff did the best they could but clearly they are forced to work with a terrible product. They try very hard but never did the owner nor manager contact us as is common when these issues arise.
We did ask that management review the charges we had incurred for this nightmare and they called the next day.
We asked they provide a refund in light of the room rates and of about $1000 they deducted $200. It was absolutely not worth the amount charged after what we were forced to endure.
Our family in Lexington thought it would be nice but were shocked after learning of our experience.
We have traveled extensively at all hotel levels. This is the story we will remember most.I know hotels have issues at times but most are exceptional at helping clients. This only became worse.
I can say they provided one of my worst hotel experiences ever! I suspect the guests may accept a loud party atmosphere and poor facilities and service.
I can absolutely confirm the other reviews addressing these issues are correct. I wish I had listened and avoided the experience completely. I grasp why they require full payment up front!
I do hope they can solve the leaks. Finally I did not sign up for goats and chickens outside a room of a luxury hotel. Certainly is not Blackberry Farm nor Twin Farms.
