点评：Rated it average but it was above average but not quite to the very good rating in my opinion.
Stopped here for dinner before a show at Brown County Music Center.
It's a beautiful facility inside and out. We were only here for dinner so didn't get to explore the grounds much but I can see where it would be fun to come and do the distillery tour and we will come back to do that.
Dinner: Friends told me to be ready for a slower than normal dining experience so I was already prepped for that...and sadly, it lived up to that. While we were seated quickly, it took our server about 15 minutes to come to our table. She said she didn't realize we were seated in the booth we were in because the high back and "you guys are shorter, so I didn't see you"....Mind you my Wife is 5'9" and I'm 6'1" so that didn't really fly with me...but whatever...we had time to kill so I wasn't overly worried. I'd just say, if you seat people in that booth by the door going out to the patio, just check on it or have the hostess let the server in that area know.
Once she got to us, service was decent...I did have to ask for refill of drink and she said yes, then came to table a few minutes later to check on us after we asked for refill and no drink? So asked again and she seemed put off by that.
Menu - We've been to Big Woods and the menu is almost, if not the same. That was okay but had I known that, I likely would have gone elsewhere as we were looking for something different...not a bad thing here, and no fault of theirs...just wanted something different and new for us.
Appetizer: Pretzel with cheese. Really good! HUGE and the cheese was good too.
Dinner: I had the Glazed Salmon...it was overcooked and would not break apart with a fork without effort...Salmon is not supposed to have the consistency of a sponge when cooked properly and it was pretty dry in the middle. With that said, the glaze on it was really good. Just wish it wasn't overcooked. Green beans were nothing to write home about either. Not much seasoning on them. Kind of boring actually.
Wife had the pulled pork grilled cheese. I've smoked my share of pork butts and had a lot of BBQ in my travels....it was just okay tonight...have had the pulled pork nachos at Big Woods and they are really good, so it could have just been this particular smoke? Just seemed kind of bland tonight and needed more sauce.
Dessert: We shared the Cookie Skillet and it was the best part of the meal! Cookie was warm and soft, gooey goodness! Worth getting!
Staff...the lady at the sampling bar was a sweetheart. We didn't catch her name but we talked cruises with her and sampled some of the offerings. She was really nice and I wish I asked her name.
Would I return....Yes, the place is beautiful and it wasn't a bad experience...just a few things I wanted to point out from our visit.
