Good grief! Is this toll bridge for real? Avoid at all costs!

点评：After a lovely few days away we had the misfortune to find ourselves at this toll bridge. We had missed seeing the alleged signage for the toll bridge and weren't aware we'd have to pay to continue on our journey until two rude and unpleasant hi-viz wearing women stepped out in front of us with a pot demanding money and telling us off for pulling too far forward. We thought it was a joke that a narrow public highway could be blocked and create traffic jams in both directions simply by two rude women who made Basil Fawlty look positively charming! How is this allowed? For people who don't know the area, it's a nightmare as you can't turn around and as mentioned the lack of clear signage doesn't give you options.
It seemed so ridiculous that I Googled to see if it was a genuine "thing" as the women were so unpleasant we thought they could be fraudsters who just position themselves to jump out and demand money from unsuspecting people! Apparently it is genuine and we were reassured to read that other people had similar bad experiences! What impression does this give of our country to foreign tourists who have the misfortune to find themselves at this troll bridge!
