点评：With thanks to Italian travel writer/blogger Erica Firpo for making us aware of Palazzo Maresgallo, we booked this stunning, impeccably transformed palace for our three nights in Lecce - and how grateful we are that we did!
Breathtakingly gorgeous and magnificently and creatively furnished and appointed, Palazzo Maresgallo is a dream. Each room - there are many public spaces and many interesting surprises at every turn — is a delightful “party” for the eyes and senses…a room-after-room exploration of stunning art, whimsical and beautiful accessories, and highest-quality furnishings all thoughtfully selected and placed by glorious owner/interior designer Miriam. For the most gracious Miriam and her staff, you are not “just” a guest; you are a welcomed friend, treated as such every day with a level of authentic and joyful attentiveness that is unparalleled.
I don’t want to leave anyone out, but need to mention Maria Laura, guest ambassador; and Federica, our morning chef. Beyond the delicious breakfasts served to us each day on a beautiful Palazzo terrace, our place settings and linens were a daily delight, each different than the one before, all prepared and set by Federica. Maria Laura was our first greeter and first impression with whom we bonded to the point where hugs were abundant when we said goodbye. For all the staff, it was clear that working there was not just a “job” - it was an opportunity to be part of something very special.
One fun thing we did - and that we’d highly recommend - was take a pasta-making class with Bruna, who taught us in one of the Palazzo’s many kitchens. She made the experience so much fun, and we loved learning about her interesting life of gratitude and giving.
A final word: if rankings could be 10 stars, Palazzo Maresgallo would easily and deservedly earn each one. We thank our lovely new friend Miriam and hope to be back one day!
