No “family fun swim” for single parent of two 9 year olds, one with autism!

点评：“Family fun swim” isn’t for families at all - if your children are over 8 but under 10 they aren’t allowed to have “family fun!”
I am a single parent with two unconfident swimmers and I’m trying to get them to feel more confident through play on the family fun sessions - which I pre book and we listen to the lifeguards and use the pool mindful of other families in. Despite booking and there only being 6 other people in the pool - I was rudely informed on reception that my children were too old for the family pool - and that I had been “told at least three times” ( which I hadn’t, I’d been questioned about there age the week before but allowed in as I had booked and the pool was quiet) but the woman on reception spoke to me like I was some sort of criminal!
Why advertise it as a family fun swim when it’s clearly being used as a tots session - and why try and publicly shame someone who is trying to do something fun with their children - I asked to complain and the woman gave me a feedback slip - didn’t fill that in as I have made an offical complaint, I have never been so disgusted with a “community” lesuire centre.
I was anxious the entire hour as my boys still wanted to go swimming so we stayed in the shallow end and I was on pins as they not strong swimmers and my son has sensory complexities meaning the cold water can cause discomfort - another reason I booked the family swim in the warmer pool - but the receptionist didn’t seem to care - sort it out Horwich lesuire centre - excluding all families with children over 8 but under 10 - shame on you!
