Hale Center Theatre的点评
点评：I am deeply disappointed with my experience working at Hale Center Theater, specifically under the leadership of the Lighting Department lead, Lindsey. I was wrongfully terminated in the wake of a personal tragedy—the passing of my favorite aunt. Understandably, I returned from break visibly upset, but chose not to share the details at that moment in order to keep my composure.
Instead of approaching the situation with basic human empathy, Lindsey responded with aggression and hostility. When I expressed that I wasn’t in the emotional space to talk, she said, and I quote: “Well if you’re going to have an attitude like that, you can get your sh*t and leave.” I had done nothing to warrant such a disrespectful and unprofessional response.
To make matters worse, Lindsey then contacted my employer (I was subcontracted through another company) and made completely false claims that I had been slamming doors and swearing—none of which ever occurred. These lies directly impacted my job status and reputation. I was kept on the schedule and led to believe I was simply being given a few days off to attend the funeral and be with my family. Only after the funeral was I informed that I was being let go.
There need to be consequences for this kind of behavior. Lindsey’s actions were not only callous and unjustified—they were harmful, defamatory, and completely lacking in basic human decency. No one should be treated this way, especially while grieving a loss.
I cannot in good conscience support or recommend Hale Center Theater as long as people like Lindsey are allowed to lead and mistreat others without accountability. If this is how they operate behind the scenes, it casts a dark shadow on what is otherwise presented as a respectable institution.
