点评：We brought our own kayaks. We unloaded at the access point, then my spouse drove to the Northwoods Canoe & Kayak's business location, parked the truck and paid Northwoods for the shuttle back to the launch. He was asked to park on the road rather than in their lot, although parking was available. As advertised, this journey does take a minimum of three hours if you steadily paddle. We made a big mistake that I implore you not to repeat. We went on this trip on a Saturday afternoon. The information we read in advance suggested packing a lunch because there are sandy beaches to pull off and have a picnic. What the promotional materials do NOT include is that at every sandy beach you will encounter a group of eight to 20 people who are blaring country music, swigging beers, picking up their girlfriends and tossing them in the water - or in one case, wading out and suggesting they'd tip over our kayaks. This party scene repeated at every beach we passed! Clearly this is a local weekend hangout. It completely obliterates the solitude and connection with nature. On top of this, there are dozens of people kayaking, canoeing and paddleboarding, so we constantly had to maneuver around others. It felt more like a busy waterpark attraction. Remember, this is an open access river - it is not owned by Northwoods Canoe or the other business that operates shuttles, so hundreds of people can be on the river. If we had wisely chosen to do this trip on a Monday morning at 9 a.m. I am certain it would have been a totally different and much more positive experience.
