点评:I’ve visited Montaluce before and had a great experience, so I was excited to bring friends visiting from abroad to share what I thought would be a memorable outing. Unfortunately, this visit was anything but.
When we arrived, the hostess asked if we preferred indoor or outdoor seating. We chose indoor, hoping to enjoy a table overlooking the beautiful landscape. Despite several empty tables in that area, we were told we couldn’t sit there because we were a party of four and the tables were “reserved” for parties of five or more. Strangely, two of those tables were already occupied by just two guests each, and there were smaller tables available nearby. When we asked for clarification, the hostess was dismissive and rude, showing no professionalism or courtesy.
We spoke with the floor manager, hoping for a resolution. Instead of helping, she seemed flustered and offered no assistance. A few minutes later, the couples at the window tables left, and the four-seat tables became available. I approached the hostess again to ask if we could move, and she curtly told me she couldn’t speak with me and that I had to handle it with our server. This was another unnecessary and frustrating interaction.
To make matters worse, we ordered cappuccinos that arrived cold. Then, when our food came, it was undercooked and had to be returned. At that point, it was clear that the service and quality control were not up to the standard I had previously experienced or expected. The restaurant did not charge for the cappuccinos and one cinnamon roll; the gesture was appreciated.
The scenery remains beautiful, but the service was disorganized, unwelcoming, and frankly embarrassing—especially when trying to share what should have been a highlight of our trip with international guests. Definitely, I won’t be returning.
