A Wonderful Tour with Ginbie!

点评：We enjoyed a wonderful tour in the Simien Mountains. We were guided and looked after extremely well by our local guide for the trip - Ginbie Abebe. We were collected from our hotel in Gandar early in the morning and driven to the staging point for the tour in Debark. We additionally picked up a scout there and drove deeper into the mountains, to be dropped off at Sankabar. We then proceeded to hike for the rest of the day. Ginbie led us through stunning scenery, pointing out all the interesting animals, birds and scenery along the way. By evening time we reached a campsite high on a mountain side at Geech. Here we met other hikers and enjoyed a memorable cooked meal with magnificent views, lit by the setting sun. A wonderful way to end a memorable day! Ginbie brought us to see special troop of baboons in the morning. We then hiked back through the mountains, passing near local villages and resting to soak in the views. We met the returning mini-bus on the access road and were driven back to Gondar by evening. Ginbie took great care of us throughout and was sensitive to our not being so acclimatised to the local altitude. We greatly appreciated Ginbie sharing his wealth of local knowledge and doing everything possible to ensure our well-being and enjoyment. Altogether a memorable experience that will live long in our memories!
