10 day tailored tour with Ecuador Bird Tours

点评：My wife and I cannot recommend this company enough. The lodges we stayed at on our tour included Hacienda Jimenita, Sachatamia Lodge, and San Isidro Lodge. They were all fantastic and the grounds of Jimenita were both gorgeous and fun to explore and there were some neat bird art pieces around the lodge. Food throughout the tour was exceptional.
The first part of our tour was 2 days with Roberto exploring Pappalacta Pass and Antisana. We didn't have to look along the road for long and he spotted an Andean Bear across the valley. Other highlights with him included seeing Shining Sunbeam, a Great-horned Owl, a large number of Carunculated Caracara and a small group of Andean Ibis close to the road.
The rest of our tour was with Miguel exploring the Mindo area and 2 days to the East of Quito. Miguel was also a photographer and was very helpful in telling where I should position myself at multiple sites to get the best shots of species whether they were in view at the time, or he knew where they would be entering from. We saw a ton of beautiful species and some highlights included Lyre-tailed Nightjar, Giant Antpitta, Oilbird, Toucan Barbet, Long-wattled Umbrellabird, Andean Cock-of-the-rock, Plate-billed Mountain Toucan, Rose-faced Parrot, and Long-tailed Sylph.
We will absolutely be doing business with this company again and highly recommend them for your future travel needs.
