A great walk with or without the falls flowing

点评：I first reviewed these falls almost 2 years ago, but following another visit in 2024 I thought a new updated review would be worth it as since around June 2024 the walking track here has been significantly increased, doubling the time you can spend there from about 1 hour to closer to 2 hours.
The original metal boardwalk track has been extended all the way to where a new viewing platform right above the top of the falls has been installed. You can see the narrow little creek that feeds the falls and get another angle on the magnificent views of the surrounding landscape.
So glad I revisted and I would highly recommend, plenty of off road parking nearby just off the main road, just a few minutes drive out of Queenstown (in the Hobart direction) on the A10/Lyell Highway.
VERY IMPORTANT TO NOTE:
1) The falls are fed by seasonal rainfall via small creek, in drier weather there may be no falls to see, but I'd still recommend this walk for the views and the excerise.
2) The new extension of the track to the top of the falls is not constructed the same way as the original metal boardwalk, it's more of a rock and gravel track, it's sturdy but not as easy as the boardwalk, so wear appropraite footwear.
