A truly memorable organic winery experience in Cyprus

点评：We had a wonderful visit to Makarounas Vineyards, a modern family winery started by Theodoros Makarounas in 2016 after his studies in Oenology and Viticulture at UC Davis.
From the moment we arrived, the experience felt personal, warm, and authentic. We had the pleasure of meeting Theodoros’ father, Kostas, and his brother Stelios gave us a fantastic grand tour of the winery. His knowledge, passion, and pride in the family’s work really brought the whole story to life.
The wines were excellent. We tasted all of their organic red wines, each with its own character and clear connection to the local terroir. We enjoyed them so much that we took several bottles with us.
A special mention must go to the homemade food they serve on Saturdays. It was absolutely outstanding — especially the stuffed vegetables, which were honestly the best we have ever had in Cyprus.
Makarounas Vineyards is much more than just a wine tasting. It is a genuine family-run experience with excellent organic wines, beautiful surroundings, warm hospitality, and unforgettable food.
Highly recommended for anyone visiting the Paphos area.
