An excellent Winter destination.

点评：Although I had visited the hotel before this was my first ( but it won’t be my last ) 14 night holiday here.
An impressive drive with immaculately kept gardens leads to a bright, shiny clean reception with beautiful floral arrangements and some dramatic artwork. Reception staff ( see attached photos ) were professional, efficient, very knowledgeable and ready to solve any issues, large or small - and I did have a few of them during my stay. The concierge (photo) calmly and quietly helped everyone with luggage and was able to answer questions about the hotel. All the staff seemed proud of their hotel and pleased to be working there.
Rooms were well designed, with tasteful soft furnishings in seaside colours and a comfortable seating area, mine enjoyed open sea views which I much appreciated. Hospitality tray and minibar ( water, Coca Cola and Fanta ) were replenished every morning. The spacious walk-in shower always had a plentiful supply of hot water, although the one substance - soap (?) dispenser was quite awkward. Towels were changed as often as requested although many were well worn.
The main restaurant offered a wide variety of quality dishes to suit different nationalities’ tastes. It did become overwhelmingly busy at peak evening times with hard working, cheerful waiting staff hastily cleaning tables for queuing guests and chefs rushing around to top up dishes - over 300 people to cater for in 1 place in a limited time was demanding - and this was Winter. The beachside snack bar with table service provided a more relaxing lunchtime venue. I also enjoyed the a-la-carte evening experience - the Moroccan tagine dish was mouth watering.
The small bar off reception was unfortunately not open in the evenings but the young woman who managed it 6 days a week until 5 p.m. was exceptionally capable and alert to guest choices. The main bar was open for most of the day and evening. It was cool and dark in there, staff worked hard to serve but with high tables in front of most of the bar, often with people playing table / board games it was difficult to access the small spaces to place an order. The entertainment in there was uninspiring, limited in Winter season I guess.
The outdoor pool is large and clean, but was cold ! The indoor pool is not a 5* feature, small and although heated is just a thoroughfare for many people.
Two places to access the beach are through deep soft sand. You can then walk for hours through safe shallows along the shoreline, where you’ll seldom see a soul -except fishermen - truly Idyllic.
Zarzis airport was small and easy to negotiate, a very pleasant change from most airports. The cafe options and gift shops were more accessible and certainly cheaper than at Enfidha.
All in all a very relaxing and enjoyable Winter holiday. I shall visit Djerba again, soon…thank you everyone for making my stay memorable.
