Mass Audubon Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary的点评
点评:Audubon's Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary is a beautiful, magical and wonderful place.
My family has enjoyed it for many decades. While my parents and siblings were young enough in the mid 1960s through the late 1970s we spent many weeks each summer camping in the pine woods of the Wildlife Sanctuary. We used a wooden pantry box I built that stored its 4 legs and included a top that laid flat for a small cooking surface.
We hiked through the marsh, enjoyed guided birding walks, and inhaled the wonderful smell of the pine woods.
In the 2000s my wife and I returned to camp with our two daughters, my sister and her son. (My brother-in-law doesn't like camping so he'd stay in a motel.) A red-tailed hawk hung around our campgrounds for days.
When my parents died we purchased and installed a bench in their memory that faces the marsh at Audubon and says in loving memory of … my parents … who cherished this sacred and beautiful place.
This year we've been fascinated and entranced by two fantastic birding walks, on which we saw many bird species and watched the nest of an adult Osprey and its 3 hatchlings.
