点评:We rented one of the camper cabins during the last weekend of March 2024. It had just snowed about 4-5 inches the day before but the ranger had plowed out the road to the parking area so we only had to hike in about 1.5 miles. The ranger called me in advance to give instructions and inform me that no ranger would be there on Friday night. We made it fine and the winter hike in was lovely. Wood was provided for the wood stove in the camper cabin. The only issue is that it gets hot when the fire is going, and then cold when the fire goes out. Still, we really enjoyed our stay. We ended up hiking on Saturday about 7 miles in a big loop around the park, with a stop at the trail center where we ate lunch, took a break, and filled up our water bottles. We got a good night sleep and by Sunday morning there was a winter storm starting so we decided to head out a bit earlier than was required so we could make the drive back to the twin cities before the roads got really bad. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at the camper cabin, and hope to come back during the summer to experience one of the backpacking campsites.
