Lake Maria State Park的点评
点评：Stayed at bp4 on the lake. The drive through to the parking lot was very pretty, as was the hike to the campground. There's some steep spots on the hike, so don't overpack like I did. A lot of really good spots for pictures if that's your thing.
The site is surrounded by trees and really gives you a sense of privacy. Unfortunately I startle very very easily, and the constant acorns falling from the trees hitting things was rough for me. No biggie, just learned fall camping here isn't for me, but I would definitely come back a different time of year.
Service is spotty at best, mosquitos were minimal with Thermacell, but flies were abundant at times of minimal wind.
The lake is active with wildlife. I saw and heard many animals in the mornings and at night. There was also scat from a bigger animal at the edge of the camp so use that food storage box.
Bring your own toilet paper, and don't put anything in the toilet that's not human waste or toilet paper down it. There's a small sign behind the toilet but you're not going to want to be in there reading signs. It's a hold your breath get your business done and rush out situation.
Multiple camps partying well past 1 AM. The camp across the lake was light off fireworks. Why you would come to a forest and light off fireworks is beyond me.
Learns a lot of stuff on this camping trip, and I will definitely be back to do more exploring!
