Kintyre Express的点评
点评：The Kintyre Express describes itself as a ‘fast passenger ferry’ on its website. In reality, it is basically a rubber dinghy (RIB) with a cabin on top to shelter 12 passengers. The problem is that this kind of vessel cannot cope with adverse weather conditions which are not uncommon in the north Atlantic. My booking to Ballycastle on May 29th was cancelled the day before. By contrast, all six Stena line ‘Superfast’ ferries from Cairnryan (Stranraer) to Belfast operated as normal that day as did all flights to/from Belfast and Glasgow from Campbeltown airport. If you are up for some fun and are entirely flexible over dates, then by all means go ahead and book with Kintyre Express. If, however, you definitely need to travel between Northern Ireland and this part of Scotland on a fixed date, consider taking the fast ferry from Stranraer or flying from Campbeltown airport. Both of these services are much more likely to operate a normal service when the ‘Kintyre Express’ cannot venture out of port. I did ask the company how many times they have already cancelled their operations this season but received no reply to my email. On a positive note, I received a full refund from the company the following day.
