点评:Despite arriving at Sadhana Forest as a family of four with high expectations and full awareness of the community guidelines, our experience as temporary volunteers was deeply disheartening. We made sincere efforts to adapt to the environment and contribute meaningfully, but soon encountered a troubling dynamic.
Temporary volunteers were expected to shoulder an excessive workload, often without adequate support or clarity. When we raised concerns with the management—particularly about the inconsistent adherence to rules by long-term volunteers—we were asked to leave. What was especially painful was the disregard for basic human dignity: even short breaks of 10–15 minutes were frowned upon, and the atmosphere left little room for rest or dialogue.
The Project manager & Management, appeared to target temporary volunteers, subjecting them to persistent micromanagement and, at times, outright harassment. Meanwhile, some volunteers stayed on without contributing, under the label of “seva,” creating a sense of inequity and frustration.
It’s important to note that many of the glowing reviews come from short-term visitors who do not witness the deeper realities of daily life in the community. While Sadhana Forest offers valuable lessons in sustainability, these are often overshadowed by rigid control and a culture that can be emotionally taxing for those genuinely trying to serve.
