What3words: degradation:confer.vests.
Mirador Del Espíritu Santo的点评
点评：Decided to climb up to Espiritu Santo after looking at it for 7 years, visiting Vera annually. There is wasteland parking but it’s quite tricky to find. You need to look for a single track incline on the left, as you head back into Vera from one of the roundabouts. There is a wooden signpost saying ‘Espiritu Santo’ at the start of the track.
We used ‘What3words’ when we got there: degradation.confer.vests. will get you to the car park near the first archway entrance.
As you walk round clockwise for a few minutes, you then have an option to go either way. Clockwise brings you to the small Museum building (Closed), retrace your steps and carry on anti-clockwise, to reach the top.
There is only one main way up so you can’t go wrong.
There are benches at certain points for rest breaks. Most of the way is wide stone steps, there are narrow metal staircases towards the very top. The Statue has a ledge for candle votives, flowers etc and the top area has metal safety barriers around it. Good for fantastic views in all directions. Allow at least 20 minutes to get to the top. It’s not a 10 min stroll.
I wouldn’t say it’s intimidating (the area, in another post) just be aware you are in a poorer area with visible shanty town-like huts, as well as Villas and Corjitos.
We went up in mid Sept and we’re the only ones. The only other people we saw were Archaeologists, working near the bottom of the monument. We’re glad we went, don’t be put off :))
