点评：Twice a year - usually November and February my husband I visit Cuba. Love the people, the beach, the weather and the safe, relaxing atmosphere. What more do you want for a holiday! The Paradisus Princesa del Mar, Varadero, is the place to be! The rooms are a good size, the beds very comfortable and the cleaning staff & service are wonderful.
The grounds are beautiful and well kept and everything is extremely neat and clean. The beach is one of the best in all of Cuba. The beach bar is very close to the beach, and there are lots of chairs for everyone. You can walk the beach for miles in either direction - always safe and beautiful. I run the beach just after 6 am each morning and am treated to the most amazing sunrise - right over the ocean.
Food is plentiful and so are drinks! Miami Vice was my new drink of the week - among others! The buffet is well stocked for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Soups, lots of assorted fish, great mussels, cheeses, vegetables, fruits and the list goes on. Definitely food there for everyone and anyone!
The Hard Rock Cafe is open 24 hours with a limited menu and was busy all of the time. Three a-la-carte restaurants were open in the evenings with sittings beginning at 7:00 pm. I enjoy them as I like to be spoiled a bit and waited on. Always three choices for appetizer, meal and dessert - definitely better than I get at home!
After dinner you can enjoy the lobby bar, the cigar bar or the piano bar., Usually musicians in the lobby and definitely in the piano bar. Entertainment each evening begins at 9:30 in the centre court.
The pool area is huge and spread out. The pool is crystal clear and very refreshing! and of course there is a pool bar with a swim up section.
Aerobic, some line dancing, various games and other events take place throughout the day so you can be as busy as you want to be. I arrived tired and enjoyed 3 books I had been wanting to read.
Varadero is a short trip away - and the Hop-on-Hop-off Bus can be caught about every half hour just outside the resort by the entrance gate. You can enjoy the bus all day for $5 U.S.
American money is the best to bring - lots of ones for tipping. Almost everything in Cuba is now in American dollars. When we go that is all we use. You can use Canadian and I believe you pay more to include an exchange rate into American.
The Cuban banks will NOT accept loonies or toonies so the Cuban people are stuck with them.
The Cuban people - no one loves Canadians more! They are so gracious, friendly and always smiling. They are the ones.....not the tourists in the resorts.....who suffer the lack of food, drink and electricity. I take clothes, some shoes, this time some LED small lanterns with extra batteries, instant food packages that just need water and lots of chocolates. My dentist gave me a supply of toothpaste and tooth brushes.
I have now been to Cuba 22 times! The value for my cost of going is 10 fold. I walk into the Princesa del Mar and it is like going home. If you have never been to Cuba - I think you are missing out. It is an affordable holiday with great weather and beaches. Paradisus Princesa del Mar is like living in a small village for a week....for me in about two days I have made lots of new friends and just love the atmosphere. Cannot not wait to return in November! Judy
