点评:Brookgreen has held a firm place in my plant-geek-sculpture-lovin' heart for many years, but my most recent visit during the Summer Light: Art by Night festival truly blew me away. The grounds featured carefully integrated glass artworks by Craig Mitchell Smith in the most otherworldly, nocturnal fairy-tale way. Utilizing the canopies of the stately oaks, glimmering water features, flowerbeds, and courtyards, Brookgreen's horticulture staff transformed the space into a summer dream. Before fully exploring the landscapes, my boyfriend and I enjoyed a fabulous dinner at Austin's Harvest heavily featuring locally/regionally-grown produce and local caught seafood. Best piece of mahi and tastiest scallop risotto I've ever had, hands down. Brookgreen also has a wonderful, upscale gift shop with many botanical treasures and books. Day or night, this garden is a true beacon of American art, ecology, fine dining, and history.
