Bad experience. Would not dive with that dive master again

点评：Everyone was very nice, but the dive master (I think his name was Chris) that took us out used very poor judgment which was very dangerous. He asked how much experience everyone had and although most people on the trip were very advanced divers, a couple of us were not. He recognized that and decided to take us on a very advanced dive to a site called “The Playground” anyway.
There were very large swells, and he attempted to explain to me how to navigate through the swells.
When everyone entered the water one-by-one, the waves were so rough that we had to swim through, one diver took on too much water, became too exhausted and started to hyperventilate and could not complete the dive. He had to come back onto the boat.
I ended my dive early because I had never dove in rough water with such large swells and had difficulty descending. I asked for more weights, and my dive master told me he wasn’t going to give me anymore weights and couldn’t hold up the rest of the people so I had to get back into the boat.
When everyone came back, two people with over 300 dives said that was one of the hardest dives they had ever done and it was definitely for advanced divers.
I’m very angry because I spent a lot of money and time traveling to Jost van Dyke, getting a hotel room, and paying for the dive to not even be able to take the dive.
The dive master said he’s supposed to select the site based on the least experienced diver, yet he did not do that. He didn’t even offer to give me a refund or let me dive with the next group, who he took to an easier dive site.
This dive master may be nice and experienced, but he lacks good judgment and has immature decision making.
