Fantastic walking, a little remote, many steps but beautiful

点评：A great time here but there wasn’t much written so I hope this helps give people ideas.
We stayed at Tottori and took a train to Iwami, it’s a 30 min walk through from the station to the Uradome beach which is beautiful. Yellow limestone higher rocks and a turquoise sea (it was sunny so we were lucky), there’s even an island with a shrine and the water was warm enough to swim in. We walked from here to Ajiro. Very windy path with lots of ups and downs but well maintained, mostly stairs. Some great views of rocks and coves, eagles circling above and thick pine forests covering the landscape. One path was closed which added time.
Not many amenities en route but bring snacks and you can have lunch on the beach. We stopped at the Shirawara area, super picturesque. Beaches are a little littered with plastics but hey.
Quite empty, not many hikers, just the odd one. Tajiri village has a nice shrine, good views and is pretty to walk.
We walked to Oiwa station from Ajiro to finish and got the train back (40min)We started about 10am, finished about 4pm with lots of stops.
Not many trains so let those dictate your day. There is also a bus from ajiro to tottori which stops at the tottori dunes on the way back (route 32)
