点评：Good trip. We arrived at approximately 9 am and made our way towards the entrance of the museum. There were several informational plaques located inside of the museum, that provided information about William Howard Taft’s family and their contributions to society. The Taft family spans five generations of individuals who have made significant contributions to public service in some way, shape or form. There was also a small theatre room that played an introductory 15 minute film about William Howard Taft. After viewing the indoor exhibits, we waited for the next available guided tour of the house. During the summer, there were guided tours being held every half hour. We followed the tour guide to the house, where we were given a quick introduction to the building and the Taft’s time in it. The tour guide took us from room to room on the first floor and told us stories about what went on in each room, while pointing out important artifacts. The guided portion of the house tour only took place on the ground floor and lasted roughly 15 minutes. The upstairs of the house was self guided and contained numerous informational plaques that went into detail about William Howard Taft’s time as president and about his early life. The informational plaques were very text heavy and took us a while to get through. There was also a short movie playing in one of the rooms about his early life. Some of the upstairs rooms were furnished. After we finished viewing the exhibits inside of the house, we left.
