Rudeness Ruined My Enjoyment

点评：I arrived at my assigned seat just a few minutes before the last act started - in the section designated for single-act ticket holders - which clearly indicated that I have just entered the theater. To my surprise, a member of staff approached me right after I sat down and asked if I have taken photos of the previous acts. I confidently replied, “No. I just arrived and have not seen or watched any performance.” But she asked again, this time letting me read the same question from a translation device as if I was illiterate and an imbecile. It was quite humiliating to be accused of violating the rules and be bombarded with the same question even after clearly answering “No.” The American tourist seated next to me witnessed our awkward exchange. She was equally baffled, as well as deeply embarrassed for me. Worst, the rude staff insisted on looking/browsing at my iPhone photo album to check if I really didn’t take any photos/videos of the show. I promptly complied and showed her the recent photos stored in my phone because I wasn’t guilty of what she was strongly accusing me of. On hindsight I now realize that this is a blatant invasion of privacy because I could have had very private, intimate photos saved. While perusing past reviews online I saw a similar complaint about prevalent racism and untoward biases directed towards solo Asian females. This ugly experience really dampened my mood during an otherwise enjoyable vacation.
