点评：There’s not much to see along the way but it’s worth doing for the experience!
We took a super cool ride in the futuristic Hotaluna “waterbus” from Odaiba to Asakusa along the Sumida River! The route includes 15 bridges and took 70 mins. It even has a bar and a rooftop viewing deck. Not that much to see along the route but the journey was unique and another tick in the box of my very long Japan wish list! It was especially cool to see the undersides and designs of the very different bridges through the glass ceiling as we passed under them.
Hotaluna was designed to look like a spaceship. It is the second futuristic vessel produced by the very famous anime and manga master Leiji Matsumoto (the other one is the Himiko).
“Matsumoto Leiji created worlds ranging from the epic space operas of Space Pirate Captain Harlock and Galaxy Express 999 to the postwar poverty of I Am a Man. These seemingly unconnected works are all part of a universe dreamed up by a master storyteller and artist. Matsumoto died from heart failure on February 13, 2023. He was 85 years old”.
As I said, not much to see along the way but definitely worth doing for the experience!
