Informative experience with constant ‘tipping’ expectations!! ☹️

点评：We enjoyed the experience and learnt about the importance of spices in Zanzibar.
The word ‘farm’ does not convey what you will see. It is not a farm at all, but more of an experience where you are led past different spices being grown. At each station, you will learn a little about the spice, see its growth pattern and touch/ smell the spices. It is interactive in this regard.
However, be warned….there is a definite expectation to tip every person who attempts to do or show you something.
Our guide, Mateus, lost interest in us when we did not tip his partners. His behaviour change was unsettling and a shame. We ended up giving him a tip, but his behaviour did not deserve it.
It was a shame really and this impacted our overall enjoyment of the spice farm.
