A beautiful patch of green in Oldham Town

点评：It’s a beautiful park that gives us a bit of greenery in a building dense area.
We’ve been going to the park for about 4 years now it’s always lovely. The park is well maintained and has plenty of wildlife. There’s the boating lake full of different birds - we’ve seen herons (they usually nest on the little islands in the middle of the lake so have a look if you’re there around baby seasons), there are coots which we have watched grow from tiny babies to adults now, tons of pigeons that will take seeds from your hands, geese, seagulls and ducks. Walking around there are plenty of crows, robins and other little birds flying around.
The cafe is open all year round and do a good hot chocolate if you need warming up. It can get really busy in the school holidays however, when they have the children’s beach set up in the park it’s a little chaotic too.
They have little docks you can hire to fish, we’ve never used these but in summer they do get busy at times.
The children’s play ground is large, it had swings, a sand pit, round about, water pump, etc. My son enjoys his time there and if you go during the week when kids are at school it’s great for toddlers as it’s quieter so less chance of bumping into a big kid.
The greenhouse is usually open and is nice to sit in if you need to warm up on a cold day. They have a variety of plants and keep it well maintained.
Overall it’s a beautiful park and I feel lucky to be able to visit it frequently.
