Just don’t bother with this as a cyclist, false advertising, route ruined by the traffic these days

点评：Highlights, curry in cafe Kusimul in Castlebay, after getting off the ferry, the coffee and cakes at the Ardmhor to eriskay ferry, world class! Good food at Am Politician. Good Barra campsite at Wavecrest, Kilbride on South Uist fine too. Cycling just grim, single
Track roads with passing spaces, route overrun with camper vans, cars these days, presume a causeway effect? Just awful. I have no idea why I drive around at 20 in almost every city and village in the UK now and these roads are at the national speed limit!! Several near misses and close passes, worst I’ve experienced in 30 years with daily commuting in Glasgow! Constant stop start cycling as you have to let cars past, or wait in passing spaces, absolutely hated it. Weather grim, wind constantly, pouring rain, sullen locals, with a leave your money and leave the island vibe, best thing was the ferry home. Cal
Mac great, love the Glen Sannox, almost worth the criminal misuse of public funds and corruption from Scottish government and Ferguson’s.
In summary, a barren windswept bleak experience with good food and near death cycling experiences. Don’t do it, get a campervan and join the rest, if you must visit. I’d just head to the New Forest or go full off road instead, save your sanity.
