We had an absolutely amazing boat trip today with Jorge in Río Lagartos! From start to finish, the experience was unforgettable. Jorge is incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about the local wildlife, and it truly shows.
We saw an incredible variety of birds—flamingos, herons, osprey, and more—all up close in their natural habitat. But the real thrill was spotting the massive saltwater crocodiles, just lounging at the edge of the mangroves. It was both exhilarating and fascinating to see these powerful creatures in the wild.
One of the most surprising highlights was the horseshoe crab. Jorge took the time to explain its unique biology and role in the ecosystem—it was something I’ve never seen before and won’t forget.
