点评：If you’re looking for an authentic experience in Río Lagartos, I recommend Jorge. Tourism isn’t as busy here as in other parts of the Yucatán, but that’s exactly what makes this place so special—and having a guide like Jorge makes all the difference.
From the moment we set off, it was clear how passionate and knowledgeable he is about the region. We visited the incredible flamingo colonies, explored the beautiful mangrove channels, and spotted crocodiles resting along the riverbanks while learning about the local ecosystem.
The highlight of the trip was definitely the fishing. Rather than simply taking us to catch fish, Jorge gave us a genuine glimpse into the daily life of the local fishermen. We learned about their techniques, the species they target, and the challenges of making a living from these waters. Catching fish alongside him made the experience even more rewarding and memorable.
