Copper Canyon and Batopilas Tour

点评：Four of us visited the Copper Canyon in Mexico for 10 days in November of 2024. We scheduled the trip through Torres Travel Company. It was an awesome trip and we had a great time. All of the transfers, reservations, tours and stays went very smoothly. The accommodations were unique, beautiful and very comfortable. The “El Chepe” train ride was incredible. The Batopilas Canyon was stunning with incredible scenery. The road to the bottom of the canyon was thrilling, often terrifying and in terrible shape, due to landslides, lack of maintenance and previous flash floods. We would do it all again.
The only improvement to the trip we would recommend is less “set menu” dining at the accommodations and more opportunities to explore local dining options in the towns. The majority of the meals were included in our tour. Menu options were very limited and the food was ok. At a couple of our stays, local dining options were limited or unavailable due to the remote nature of the hotels. We ate at a local restaurant in El Fuerte when we had one “dinner on your own” night. The food was so good we ate there again on our return trip, even though we had a pre-paid meal voucher for that night at the hotel.
P.S. If you go to the “Valley of the Monks”’ there is a small tienda (store) that sells drinks, snacks and tamales at the trailhead. Don’t leave without getting one or more tamales. They are incredible! The best we have ever had!!!!
All in all, Francisco (the owner) and the staff of Torres Travel worked very hard for us and did an incredible job. We can recommend them 100%.
