点评：We have been to many museums throughout the world, and some of them have been classified unusual (such as the Museum of Broken Relationships in Zagreb Croatia). This is one of those that fit into the unusual category. As you have gathered from other reviews, there are tens of thousands of pieces and artifacts within this museum, from a locket containing hair from George and Martha Washington, to the telescope of John Paul Jones to silver goblets from Paul Revere. Dupont planned to turn his home into a museum years before this was accomplished. All kitchens and bathrooms were removed from the home to provide more exhibit space while he moved into the cottage next door. We had a marvelous time looking at all the artifacts. Our recommendation for viewing is 1) take the free tram ride with guided tour to get a layout of the grounds and history of ther house. Each tram driver has developed their own tour so no 2 are exactly the same. 2) take some time to walk around the grounds. 3) Go into the home and do the self guided tour. It is fascinating 4) MOST IMPORTANTLY..sign up for the guided tour where you gain access to floors not available on the self-guided tour. Here you wil have access to wonderful artifacts and see where the badminton court and bowling ally was located. You wull also see the private living quarters and bedrooms and Mr. and Mrs. DuPont. The cost is well worth it. Do not skip the Gallery or soup tureen exhibit.
