Garyu Sanso的点评
点评：Garyu Sanso is an absolute masterpiece of beauty and tranquility. There are two buildings where you can explore the interior; the main villa and a teahouse which overlooks the river. Both have beautiful views of the gardens in the foreground, and river in the background. Just below Gary Sanso, there's a small riverside park on a tiny island, where you can see the overall property. However, paying the admission fee and seeing Garyu Sanso itself, is not to be missed. The interiors and the gardens are too beautiful to describe adequately, so I'll let the photos do the talking.
I visited Garyu Sanso as a day trip from Matsuyama, taking the Yosan Line Limited Express train from Matsuyama Station to Iyo-Ozu Station (37mins). From Iyo-Ozu Station, it's a 25-minute, pleasant walk to Garyu Sanso, in which you cross a bridge over the Hijikawa River, and have a view of Ozu castle. I spent about an hour at Garyu Sanso itself, and also enjoyed exploring the quaint historic town of Ozu with beautiful buildings restored by Nipponia Hotel. There are lots of quaint shops, restaurants and tea houses in the streets leading to the villa. Ozu Shrine is also very close by, and worth walking to from Garyu Sanso.
