点评:Since the news has been announcing that bear attacks have appeared more frequently in Japan this year, Shiretoko National Park is home to the the Hokkaido Ezo Bear and on the day we visited the Shiretoko Goto Lake, the accessibility to hike on the boardwalks to the lake was closed at a certain point as there was a fatal bear attack a few days earlier . It is best to check with the Visitor's Center prior to beginning your hike, although they may/should also have signs posted on the trail closure(s) for safety of hikers.
The trail to the Goto Lakes are on boardwalk planks and there are electronic guards set up along the side of the boardwalks but hikers still need to be vigilant in the surroundings. The panoramic views of the surrounding area of the Shiretoko Goto Lakes is very picturesque with the surrounding mountain range and lily pond lake at the the 3rd boardwalk. It was a nice walk to view the vastness of this area. Well worth an hour or two to visit this area.
