Delightful experience, weather was not the best but still enjoyed it

点评：Tuesday 6th May we took a ride on the Rokko Cable Car as one of features of our The Glory of Mount Rocko Tour.
It is located in the National Park Rokkosan and it has been running since 1932, in fact the front of the green carriage in gold letters was "Rokko Cable since 1932". The other carriage was red
Sadly, today the weather was rather miserable, lots of umbrellas about and the views were very restricted.
We travelled from Shimo Station to the summit, Rokko Sanjo Station, which is located at an altitude of 737 metres (roughly 2,418 feet) above sea level.
The Cable Car travels a distance of 1.7 kilometres (just over a mile) between the two stations, which are in height terms 500 metres (approx. 1,640 feet) apart. The journey time is approximately 10 minutes
We did arrive in time to catch the 09.20 train, however, there was another Tour Group a ahead of us. There was insufficient room for our Group, so we waited for the next departure at 09 40.
We climbed the concrete steps, alongside the carriages to front carriage where we boarded, and sat alongside the driver.
There was a real retro charm, stepping back in time feel to the carriage with its wooden panels and large windows.
From our seats we could see up the track and surrounding area as we travelled up the mountain.
Two cars, each with two carriages operate along a single line track, one travels up the track while the other travels down. This a halfway point, the track splits into two allowing the carriages pass each other.
Despite the weather conditions we did enjoy our journey on this quaint old Cable Car.
