Great beginner, intermediate resort
Myoko Kogen的点评
点评：We spent a week at Myoko Kogen and spent the majority of our time skiing on the Akakura Onsen side.
There are some great positives about the resort. There was so much snow and it just kept coming. The area is great for beginner/ intermediate skiers and would definitely recommend Myoko Kogen to others.
The resort wasn’t busy, the runs were good and it ticked the boxes for me.
There were some negatives however, mainly the lifts which are old and half of them weren’t open. Several of the days were bluebird and they just didn’t open all the chairlifts, it’s just weird.
The main lift connecting the Onsen side to Kanko side was shut often and I just think communication with regards to what lifts were open or closed was poor.
Also, on a couple of the lifts, the queues were quite long, yet people were still going up on the lifts solo. I can’t understand how people can go up on a lift solo when there is a mass of people waiting to get up onto the snow fields. That’s not the resorts fault but maybe there could be an express lane for the people willing to share lifts and then they can just jump on a chair lift if there is a free spot.
There is also the element of Aussie bogans creeping in which is to be expected. I think gone are the days of these quieter places staying quiet or unknown.
Overall I enjoyed it, it’s just needs a bit of modernisation and it’s got potential to be a really good ski resort.
